Thirty seconds and counting. Astronauts report it feels good. T-25 seconds. Twenty seconds and counting. T-15 seconds, guidance is internal. 12, 11, 10, 9 … ignition sequence start … 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 … All engines running. Liftoff! We have a liftoff …
Well, not exactly the same kind of launch. However, at the encouragement of fellow RV enthusiasts and friends, I have decided to launch my own RV manufacturing company. I wanted to bring to the world the most innovative RV design solutions available. Have a look at the new company website here:
As you already have seen, the Sonoran project is purely a labor of love. The design itself is a result of drawing inspirations from countless of full-time and part-time RV enthusiasts’ travelogues, who have a desire for a truly disruptive RV design which is highest in quality while having maximum utility in an extremely small package so that you can venture into the remotest locales with ease. I want to be able to continue the works to bring these disruptive design solutions to the mass, but I will need your help and encouragement. You can help by visiting the new company site and let me know of your thoughts here. I am not averse to constructive negative comments. Be direct and brutally honest but please be helpful. Guide me to become successful so that I can continue to bring about the best in RV designs.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
When you left a comment on my blog a week or so ago, I took a look at it and really liked how you can maneuver the slides from the outside. And how well lit it was and energy efficient. I could totally see myself in one of those.

Oh, thank you so much for saying that!! I’m so glad you enjoy my writing. And I am looking forward to seeing how this project of yours develops.
Can I make a suggestion? What about having a white interior, like white wood in the kitchen area, etc.? So many RVs these days are the dark wood. It might make it stand out a bit. 🙂

I love your suggestion. The next RV will have a “ocean cottage” theme in pastel colors.

Awesome! That’s exactly the look I love. Can I ask – how much does the prototype weigh?

Terri,
Thank you for your interest. The prototype is designed not to exceed 4,500 Lbs GVWR. The actual dry weight is not known yet since I haven’t had time to take it to the weight station. I am, however, working on another model designed for a single person or a couple. The new model is about the same foot print of the smallest Airstream (i.e. Airstream Basecamp or Casita 16/17). The GVWR is 3,500 lbs. Max so you can tow it with a full size SUV or a van just like RV Sue’s. It will have one single nearly full-wall slide-out on the street side instead of two slide-outs like the present Sonora project. Beyond that, because of the numerous patents pending with the USPTO, I can’t disclose anything else, except, it may have the “ocean cottage” looks just for you!
